The Department of Botany was established with the objective of imparting quality education and promoting scientific temper in the field of plant sciences of Government Degree College, Arakuvalley.
Government Degree College, Arakuvalley is affiliated to Andhra University. The Department of Botany follows the course structure prescribed by Andhra University and offers UG programmes in Botany. To disseminate knowledge through innovative methods, the department organizes seminars, and guest lectures. The department provides undergraduate students with a strong foundation in plant sciences. The department aims to provide students with a strong foundation in classical, applied and modern areas of Botany. Emphasis is laid on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through laboratory work, field studies, projects, seminars and educational tours. The department of Botany strives to nurture scientifically competent, socially responsible and environmentally conscious graduates.
